The Consulate General in Los Angeles, in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, organized the Virtual Investment Forum on Thursday, March 18, 2021 to strengthen commercial ties between Ethiopia and the United States of America.
This forum held a successful deliberation on local economic reform and the business environment in Ethiopia, including opportunities and incentives in priority sectors that the country offers to foreign investors.
In this investment forum, more than 108 representatives of companies, representatives of chambers of commerce and organizations were represented.
His Excellency Ambassador Ababi Demissie, Director General of Foreign Direct Investment and Technology Transfer, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, in his opening remarks, emphasized the reasons for doing business in Ethiopia and the opportunities and investment incentives available to investors.
The Director General also stressed that these types of investment forums are key instruments to strengthen ties between Ethiopia and the United States of American companies and entrepreneurs.
In addition to this, presentations were made on investment potentials and facilities available to investors to those attending the virtual forum by representatives of the Ethiopian Investment Commission and the Ministry of Mines and Petroleum of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia. .
HE Ambassador Mulugeta Kelil, Consul General of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia in Los Angeles, in his closing remarks highlighted that “the Consulate General of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia in Los Angeles invites everyone to visit and explore open investment opportunities to investors, in several priority sectors, in Ethiopia.
He also assured investors of the commitment of his Consulate General to speed up the ease of doing business in investment areas, investors participating in the virtual conference and any investor interested in doing business in Ethiopia.
He also promised to organize such forums in the future that will bring investors together to exchange valuable information and accelerate collaboration.
