Black Friday will be even more amorphous than usual this year, with COVID-19 drastically limiting the wisdom of running in-store promotions and more searching for deals online than ever. And that means deals will be posted early, with lots of deals on TVs, games, and the like at many retailers. Now, we’re getting the big deal from the Nintendo Switch live, so you’ll want to get this one as soon as you can.
The deal is more or less the same as last year, with some minor changes. You still get the Nintendo Switch console with Mario Kart 8 Deluxe installed for $ 299.99, but this year it’s the updated model with improved battery life. You also get 3 months of Nintendo Switch online, just in case. It only costs $ 3.99 to buy it alone, but hey: every little bit counts.
I see this deal will be posted on Target and Best Buy, but keep an eye out for other retailers as well:
Note that this is just a deal in terms of the free game – it’s a great game, which you should get anyway, but other than that it’s the same as the MSRP on a normal day. Which, to be honest, is already something of a deal – the Switch has been hard to find since the locks started earlier in the year and people started snatching up a console fresh out of the launch of Animal Crossing: New Horizons. So if you are looking to get one, now is a great time.
And I highly recommend a Switch in most circumstances. It’s a great console with some of the best games ever made, and it’s basically the only console that takes local multiplayer seriously in any way. It is also home to my current job game of the year, which is hell. All in all, you can’t go wrong choosing one, although I would also recommend hooking up a memory card to go along with it.
