We can’t wait for them to update us.
From iOS 14 to iPad OS and Watch OS, Apple’s September event featured the brand’s next digital edge.
Apple’s September event has given us many answers regarding the brand’s future offerings, especially when it comes to the Apple Watch Series 6 and the 8th-generation iPad. We may have got a glimpse of the next generation of hardware last night, but the software was already unveiled months ago at WWDC 2020, but the recent big launch revealed a key announcement: the next wave of OS is coming to our devices today. .
These are the key features to watch out for.
App Library in iOS 14
Apple is thinking about profit this year around the SO spectrum, and one of the first things that stood out was the App Library feature that will be a part of iOS 14. As of now, our apps may be organized, but they are still a bit cluttered. To make the process easier, iOS will have a new and improved search bar and automatically filtered app pools. This would also suggest apps based on recent usage.
Digital keys
This was one of the most futuristic moments of WWDC 2020 – the reveal that you’ll soon be able to use your iPhone as your car key. A new built-in technology, starting with the 2021 BMW 5 Series, will allow you to unlock your car by gently tapping the car near the door handle. Do you want someone to drive your car? Simply send them an email with the digital key and they will have access. We also hope that the software will start the car and even have cockpit control in the future.
Widget view and its dynamic sizes
Widgets have been quick access portals and information bubbles on our devices. However, they have always had a standardized structure. The next wave of iOS and iPad OS will let you embed widgets alongside other apps now. Additionally, each widget will be available in different sizes, some square, some rectangular, and each will offer a different visual experience and information display. This opens the door for app developers to get really creative with the app’s pre-launch features.
Picture-in-picture mode
Finally, Apple tackles and deals with the one mania that iPhone users have had for years. Watch videos while the application is closed. Remember how we had to keep the YouTube app open to listen to a song? Well, no more of that. This is called ‘Picture in Picture’ mode, where you can have a video widget floating while you multitask. You can even completely hide the video and just listen to the audio.
Siri is smarter than ever
Siri is much more capable of answering complex questions rather than jumping to web search. Ask questions like “How do electric cars work?” or ‘How long do I bake the cake?’ and she can help you. Instead of direct questions, you can now also explain. You can also reply with voice memos. Let’s say you’re cooking, your hands are dirty, and your iPhone rings. Start with “Hey Siri” and ask her to send a voice memo to whoever is calling.
App clips
Apple also introduced App Clips, an instant app feature. This allows you to basically do in-app activities outside of the app. Whether it’s quick payments, media sharing, or even ordering a specific dish at a restaurant. In a way, it’s almost like scanning a QR code and requesting an action. Plus, you can even link Apple Pay to this new feature, allowing you to make instant payments too.
Doodle on iPad
For those who keep taking notes, there is a new app for you. ‘Scribble’ allows you to write in any text field with the Apple Pencil and automatically converts it to text. Detect phone numbers, emails, forms, and much more.
Spatial audio on AirPods Pro
The AirPods Pro is the undisputed apex when it comes to the wireless sound experience. Introducing this, Apple stated that they have been inspired by movie theaters to create this hyper-realistic surround sound experience. Using what Apple calls Spatial Audio, the Airpods Pro will also use its gyroscope to understand the movement of our heads and adjust the surround sound experience accordingly.
Silicon from the apple
Apple will now build its own chips to power its Mac computers and create a “common architecture” that makes them suitable for the same ecosystem as the iPhone and iPad. Dubbed ‘Apple Silicon’, the initiative ends a long-standing partnership with chipmaker Intel and allows computers to run the same applications as iPhones. Apple CEO Tim Cook said the move represents “a huge step forward for Mac,” leading to a more powerful and energy-efficient system that operates more like Apple’s mobile devices.
Share faces on Apple Watch
In recent years, we’ve gotten creative with the Apple Watch face. Some like it minimalist or elegant, others like it bold and detailed. Now, Apple will allow you to further customize the watch face and include more widgets and technical functions. You can also share the concept of the watch face with a friend with a simple tap.
Dance training mode on Apple Watch
The Apple Watch is currently the world’s favorite tech gadget for exercising. Keep training fun, competitive and inspiring. But he only kept a record of our training. Now, the Apple Watch will also consider dance and yoga as a form of training and activity. You will understand the rhythmic movements and speed of each dance step to analyze this. There will be a new ‘Fitness’ app dedicated to this.
Apple Watch will track how often you wash your hands
The only reason WWDC 2020 took place over the internet and not in San Jose with a crowd of 10,000 tech addicts was because of the coronavirus. And one particular segment of the opening event tackled this issue head-on. It was announced that the Apple Watch will now track how often we wash our hands. A simple but important detail right now.
