The Audi RS6 GTO Concept is a killer throwback to one of Audi’s great race cars

One of Audi’s coolest race cars, well … ever, was the Audi 90 IMSA GTO, which was a fierce race car from the early 90’s. To honor that car, along with 40 years of Quattro, It is this: the Audi RS6 GTO Concept.

This idea came from one of the Audi trainees (who must be having an amazing day) at the Neckarsulm facility. It is based on the standard Audi RS6 Avant, but has been removed and made to look like a proper race car, in the same vein as the 90 IMSA GTO.

This car looks absolutely amazing. For starters, it has a unique livery, evoking images of the old IMSA corridor. Then you get a new split grill design with an all-new front bumper and lower air intakes. The new side skirts also have cutouts for the side exhausts, which are among the coolest things about this car. At the rear, a large roof spoiler adds some aggression.

Of course it also has amazing white wheel covers, with red center locks. Not only are they similar to the 90 IMSA GTO, but they look fantastic.

Inside the Audi RS6 GTO Concept, you will notice that its comfortable normal leather seats have been replaced by racing hubs and four-point harnesses. The rear seats have been replaced with a roll cage and the center console cubicle has been swapped for a series of racing buttons.

This Audi RS6 GTO Concept is one of the coolest and most unique concepts we’ve seen from Audi in a long time. Although it will obviously never go into production, we are delighted that it exists. Now all we have to do is raise enough money for an Audi RS6 Avant, so that we can modify it to look like this concept. That’s all we really want out of life, now.
