Tales of Arise has returned to the public eye after being missing in action for the better part of a year, and it looks like more information will follow soon.

The 17th entry in the long-running Japanese RPG series was first officially shown during Microsoft’s Xbox E3 2019 press conference, but we’ve heard very little about the project since. The game was indefinitely delayed in June 2020, and Bandai Namco has since kept his cards very close to his chest, much to the chagrin of fans of the series.

“Spring is just around the corner and we have worked hard to make it unforgettable!” Bandai Namco said as he re-revealed the game. “Take a first look at Tales of Arise.” Check out the new trailer below.

An official blurb for the game reads:

Tales of Arise takes place in a solar system that contains the two neighboring planets of Dahna and Rena. The people of Dahna have always revered their planetary neighbors on Rena, a planet they can clearly see in their sky, as a land of the just and the divine. For the people of Dahna, the legends and lore about Rena and her inhabitants have been passed down for countless generations and, over time, have become facts in their minds that have masked a cruel reality for the people of Dahna.

“For 300 years, the people of Rena have ruled Dahna, plundering the planet of its resources and stripping its people of their dignity and freedom. Tales of Arise begins with two people, born in different worlds, each of whom wishes to change their destiny and create a new future for themselves and perhaps their people. Featuring an original cast of characters, a dramatic story, dynamic combat, stunning environments, with some classic Tales Of elements included; Tales of Arise marks a new beginning for the famous JRPG franchise. “

We may hear more about the game on the recently registered Bandai Namco Next, which could be Bandai Namco’s version of Sony’s State of Play or Nintendo’s Direct. Either way, the publisher promises more game updates in spring 2021.vi
