Sudan thanks Egypt for sending medical aid to curb COVID-19

CAIRO – May 4, 2020: The Sudanese government expressed its appreciation to the Egyptian government for sending four medical convoys to combat the new coronavirus (COVID-19) on the African continent.

Egyptian President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi on Monday ordered the Egyptian Armed Forces to send medical aid to Sudan, prompting the latter to fly four military planes with drugs and protective equipment.

“This important move reflects the depth of relations between the two countries,” Egypt’s MENA state news agency Faisal Mohamed Saleh, a Sudanese government spokesman, reported on Monday.

“On behalf of the government and people of Sudan, I express my appreciation and appreciation to our brothers in the Arab Republic of Egypt, the leadership and the people,” Saleh said, adding that aid includes personal protective equipment (PPE) l , equipment for medical laboratories, sterilizers, medications and intravenous solutions, devices and sterilization equipment to combat the coronavirus pandemic.

Egypt had sent medical assistance to China, Italy, the United States, and the United Kingdom.
