Sudan FM: army restores control over border with Ethiopia

(MENAFN) The army has re-established control of all the lands along the border that had been taken by Ethiopian farmers, the Sudanese Foreign Minister declared.

On Thursday, the Khartoum press conference quoted Minister Omar Qamareddine as saying: “The armed forces have completely regained all of Sudan’s territory.”

Qamareddine further said that “the borders have already been demarcated, all that remains in our talks” is to increase the border signals. “

Tensions have flared between the two countries over the al-Fashqa border region, where Ethiopian farmers have been cultivating fertile land maintained by Sudan.
