Spider-Man: Miles Morales It’s coming to PS4 and PS5 on November 12, but this week we got a glimpse of the game’s biggest feature: Spider-Cat.
Yes, Spider-Cat is real and can absolutely be your friend and partner in crime fighting.
The big reveal is courtesy of a gameplay video from Game informer that shows Morales after the robbery of a winery. The exact plot is not fully explained, but it appears that the winery owner has a cat (further named Spider-Man) who was kidnapped during the crime. Morales obediently heads out to mistreat the bad guys, and in the process retrieves our feline friend, who is seemingly unlocked as part of an optional costume for the player.
However, Spider-Cat doesn’t just relax in your backpack. Once outfitted with his own mask, he’ll even deliver finishers to baddies, leaping at them with claws of furry fury.
Honestly, it seems like just a perfect little extra to the game, exactly in keeping with the tone of Spider-Man and his home in New York. Cats are a staple of the city’s wineries that exist Instagram and Twitter accounts that document their exploits (which are primarily: hanging out and looking cute). Now if only a few NPCs can approach Spider-Cat and declare that “take a pet, like there’s no problem, ”Things will really be looking up for 2020.
