South Korea Donates Medical Supplies to Ethiopia to Help Fight COVID-19

The Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Ethiopia, along with Korean businesses, NGOs, and development agencies joined hands in donating equipment such as test kits, face masks, shields and financial support to the Ethiopian Ministry of Health and the Ethiopian Public Health Institute.

Dr. Liya Tadesse, Ethiopia’s Minister of Health, highlighting the importance of obtaining sufficient test kits to combat COVID-19, expressed her pleasure for having received the donation. She also pointed out that the Korean government is a strong partner of Ethiopia in areas like maternal and child health.

Ethiopia has so far (by Thursday 14 May, 2020) 272 confirmed cases of COVID-19, of which 108 have recovered, two have returned to their home countries, and five have died.
