The South African president and current president of the African Union (AU), Cyril Ramaphosa, dealt a blow to the Polisario separatists this Sunday by reaffirming the relevance of Decision 693 of the African Summit held in July 2018 in Nouakchott, Mauritania.
Ramaphosa, who spoke at the end of the 14th Extraordinary Session of the African Union Assembly on Silencing Arms, stressed, to the great regret of Morocco’s adversaries, that the amendments to Decision 693 proposed at this summit confirm the provisions of said decision. .
Decision 693 enshrines the exclusivity of the United Nations as a framework for the search for a solution to the regional conflict created by the Moroccan Sahara issue, while establishing the Troika mechanism to support the efforts led by the UN for the solution of this artificial dispute.
The South African president’s statements represent another success for Morocco in the face of the attempts and maneuvers of the enemies of the Kingdom’s territorial integrity, who strive to sow divisions within the continent.
In the meantime, Morocco resolutely continues its valuable contribution to efforts to facilitate the emergence of an Africa that can take charge of its future.
