The shared videos reveal new details about the design and engineering of Sony Vision-S. It focuses on the Sony softwares used in the electric sedan. According to the company, Sony has added 40 sensors for autonomous driving. Sony had previously said that it will add 33 autonomous driving sensors to Vision-S.
Sony has added new sensors to the Vision-S, shows a first version of an infotainment system in the video, talks about OTA updates, 5G and more. Sony had previously said that the Vision-S will have 360-degree audio and always-on connectivity, among other features.
One of the key features of the Vision-S concept car unveiled at CES 2020 was the large infotainment screen that stretched across the entire dash. The video confirms that Sony will follow through.
The Vision-S is powered by a “newly designed EV platform,” designed by automotive supplier Magna. He is also quite visionary to look at and how he stands. The sedan resembles the Porsche design language. While there is no information yet on the size of the battery or the powertrain, the Vision-S is reported to be a 536 hp all-wheel drive twin engine that can go from zero to 100 km / h in less than 5 seconds and reach a maximum speed of 240 km / h.
According to CNET, the Vision-S was built by Sony’s robotics and artificial intelligence team. It is a prototype, which means that it does not hint or indicate the company’s intent to actually enter the automotive retail space.
Sony is still secretive about most of the details of the Sony Vision-S car. It is not yet known when Sony can be expected to launch this electric sedan, which is considered one of Tesla’s next rivals.
