Sony has released a fascinating behind-the-scenes look at how the music was made for the upcoming Demon’s Souls remake and confirmed that a soundtrack will be released digitally on November 26, 2020, with CD and vinyl sales expected to remain on. December.
Though only three minutes long, the video is a chilling opportunity to see how the music, the original score of which was created by composer Shunsuke Kida and rearranged by Bill Hemstapat, was recorded at AIR Studios in London, complete with the famous ” pipe organ in the London temple church “.
“Go behind the scenes to the music of Demon’s Souls – an epic and haunting listening experience of reimagined and re-recorded inspirational music performed by a 75-member orchestra, a 40-person choir, and various vocal and instrumental soloists,” Sony said in a statement from press (thanks, Audio news for games). Here, listen:
“Music is used sparingly, and fear builds within you from its absence, and a sense of loneliness and despair takes hold of you,” said SIE Worldwide Studios Creative Director Gavin Moore. “But the void left by music is filled with sound, which envelops you and surrounds you.”
ICYMI also recently gifted us with a new video that offers an excellent look at the comparisons between the original Demon’s Souls on the PS3 and the PS5 remake from Bluepoint Games. The video shows footage we’ve seen so far in Demon’s Souls previews, like the one posted earlier this week on the PlayStation YouTube channeland then place the same images from the original game side by side to compare.
Not much left to go now! Demon’s Souls is just one of several PS5 launch games arriving on November 12 for PS5, a console launch line comprised of similar to Spider-Man: Miles Morales, Sackboy: A Big Adventure, to name just two.
