Nintendo will reveal new information about the upcoming Super Nintendo World theme park tonight. At 3pm PST / 6pm EST, a 15-minute Nintendo Direct will showcase some of Nintendo’s new themed areas at Universal Studios Japan.
Nintendo and Universal Studios originally planned to open the park extension this summer in conjunction with the Tokyo Olympics, but the date was postponed amid concerns over the coronavirus. The new land will open its doors on February 4, 2021. There will be two main attractions available on opening day, a Mario Kart ride and a ride based on Yoshi’s Adventure.
A preview of the Mario Kart ride, called Koopa’s Challenge, revealed a hybrid ride, a car on rails that uses an AR headset to heighten the experience. The live can show more about this ride, the Yoshi ride, just be an information module about the upcoming theme park.
Game content will not be announced with this Direct. The stream will be available on Nintendo’s YouTube page.
