Leaks and rumors about the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S20 FE have been floating around the networks for the past few months. But even though we’ve learned quite a bit about the upcoming device, Samsung has yet to reveal any information about it. However, that could change soon, as Samsung has announced another Galaxy Unpacked event where the company is expected to launch the Galaxy S20 FE.
Samsung just shared an invitation video for its next Galaxy Unpacked event, which is scheduled for September 23rd. The video shows the Galaxy logo with two smartphone silhouettes that change color for 15 seconds. This could be a reference to the various color options that Samsung is expected to offer for the Galaxy S20 FE. While the invitation doesn’t reveal any more information about the device, we already know quite a bit about its design and specifications.
Previous leaks suggest that the Samsung Galaxy S20 FE will feature the same design as the vanilla Galaxy S20, with a centered drill cutout and a rectangular camera module on the back. However, unlike the Galaxy S20, the Galaxy S20 FE will have a flat screen with slightly thicker bezels on all sides.
The leaked specifications of the Galaxy S20 FE suggest that Samsung will ship two versions of the device: a 5G model with Snapdragon 865 technology and a 4G model with Exynos 990 technology. Both variants will feature a 6.5-inch SuperAMOLED display with a resolution of 2400 x 1080 pixels. , 120Hz refresh rate and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. The device will feature a triple camera setup on the back with a 12MP primary sensor, a 12MP ultra-wide camera, and a 12MP telephoto camera. On the front, the device will feature a 32MP selfie.
The processor of both Galaxy S20 FE models will be accompanied by 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of integrated storage. The device will also feature an in-display fingerprint scanner, but it is unclear whether it will be the ultrasonic or optical type. Connectivity options will include Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.0, and NFC, and the device will also feature wireless charging support. Finally, the Galaxy S20 FE is expected to include a 4,500 mAh battery with support for fast charging.
