Just a few months after pestering Apple for no longer including a charger with the iPhone, two competitors are now doing the exact same thing.
Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun confirmed that the Mi 11 will come without a charger and Samsung deleted a Facebook post over the weekend that poked fun at Apple’s move, which may be hinting that the Galaxy S21 won’t have one either when comes out in january.
When Apple announced the iPhone 12 and all future releases would ship without chargers, Samsung and Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi took the opportunity to poke fun at the Cupertino company.
Samsung posted an image of a Galaxy charger, with the caption “included with your Galaxy.”
A day later, Xiaomi tweeted a video promoting its Mi 10T Pro, showing charging without a box, with the caption: ‘Don’t worry, we don’t leave anything out of the box.

In October, after Apple announced that iPhones would no longer come with chargers, Samsung posted this message on Facebook. It has since been removed, leading some to speculate that a charger will not be included in the next Galaxy S21.
Lei introduced the M11 over the weekend, stating that its ‘light and thin’ packaging was due to the company having decided to stop including a charger.
Like Apple, he said the decision was “in response to the call of technology and environmental protection.”
“Today everyone has a lot of idle chargers, which is a burden for you and for the environment,” Lei said.

On Twitter, iPhone users expressed their anger at Apple’s decision to stop shipping chargers and EarPods with new phones.
