Vice President William Ruto has taken his political warfare with the handshake duo of President Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM leader Raila Odinga to a higher level.
Fresh out of a nightly tweet storm on Saturday, Ruto’s brigade swept Bungoma yesterday, challenging President Kenyatta to carry it out in regards to dissolving Parliament and vowing to turn him and his new ally, Raila, around.
In a flurry of tweets the night before, Ruto reviewed the “deep state” debate, denounced the dependence on the “godfathers” and scrapped the duo’s Building Bridges Initiative (BBI). The vice president also issued harsh conditions for his support of the initiative.
And as the dust settled, Ruto appeared in Bungoma to defend fundamental freedoms, demanding respect for the judiciary and its leadership as his allies challenged Uhuru to dissolve Parliament for failing to enact the two-thirds gender rule.
“We must respect each other even when we have different opinions. Respect must extend to everyone; the Judiciary is not exempt. No bullying will prevent us from achieving our goals. We no longer live in an era in which decisions about the affairs of the country are the exclusive domain of a few, ”Ruto said in Bumala, Bungoma County, when yesterday he gave donations to various churches.
During Saturday night’s storm of tweets, Ruto released 11 election tweets, ripping at the heart of Raila-Uhuru’s political game plan. The tweets were seen as a response to Raila’s tough tackles in recent days.
“You also take pride in godparents. But we are the people, the Hustler nation, and we have God the Father. Please, let’s have a decent conversation, that’s all we ask, ”Ruto tweeted.
Deep state
The DP said it was “very aware” of how powerful its detractors were, because they have the “system”, the “deep state” and the “godparents.” But he said that the threats, blackmail, intimidation and insults he has been dealt with for the past two years were the language of tyrants, despots and dictatorships.

He claimed that BBI was trying to create “five high places for the powerful,” while important national projects such as the implementation of the housing program were relegated.
On Saturday, Raila said the BBI report would be released soon with the possibility of a plebiscite early next year. She warned detractors that they would not be able to stop reggae.
Raila, referring to Ruto, said that those who opposed BBI were dark forces that corrupted citizens through lies against the report of a task force formed by him and Uhuru in March 2018 during the famous handshake. .
Ruto, who identifies himself as a scammer, a label he’s been trying to popularize lately, said that at the very least, scammers want a new conversation about each other’s daily commitments.

At the Bungoma event, Ruto continued his opposition speech, demanding respect for all arms of the government and saying that the attacks on Chief Justice David Maraga would not help anyone.

Hamisi’s MP Charles Gimose urged Uhuru to speed up the dissolution of Parliament, stating that the swindler brigade was well prepared for the elections.
“This is a country that respects the law and the law must transcend; the president must not waste time, we fully support the dissolution of Parliament. We are ready to confront those who oppose his presidential ambition on the ballot, ” Gimose said.
Mumias East lawmaker Benjamin Washiali claimed that leaders who opposed the dissolution of Parliament were afraid of losing their seats as they had no development records to sell to the people.

We tell our opponents that their attacks on the CJ are unjustified and that they should prepare for a forceful battle if elections are called. ”
Washiali defended the CJ, adding that the attacks on Maraga were misinformed and done out of malice. “He is only acting on the basis of the law, the Constitution allows him to notify the president when some aspects of the law are being abused.”
Mathira MP Rigathi Gachagua has warned that they will not allow Huduma Namba’s proposed new registration if the national government does not open up to citizens what happened with the first registration.
