A Play Store token for Resident Evil Village has detailed numerous next-generation enhancements.
Sony recently listed the upcoming survival horror game on its website, giving players new details on the game’s visual enhancements exclusive to next-gen systems, specifically the PS5.
Resident Evil Village it comes with 4K resolution and HDR visuals that, as described on the page, will allow gamers to explore “beautiful but terrifying landscapes and places” along with the addition of ray tracing. With the PS5’s SSD hard drive, fast charging has also been confirmed so that gamers can “instantly pick up right where you left off with almost no load times.”
As for the exclusive features of PS5, Resident Evil Village you will use the DualSense controller to create an immersive experience. With the many weapons scattered throughout the game, players will be able to “feel the weight and pull of the gun triggers for an even more immersive experience” through the controller’s adaptive triggers. Haptic feedback will also simulate gun firing via vibrations.
Audio is also coming into focus with PS5’s Tempest 3D AudioTech. Unique technology for the next generation console will create the feeling of full surround sound with “carefully crafted music and survival horror sounds” that “enhances the experience by making you feel the eerie sounds coming from all directions.”
While the game is designed with the next generation in mind, Capcom has also said that it is looking to bring the game to current generation systems. There is still no confirmed date for Resident Evil Village outside of a 2021 launch window.
