Queen’s shock: Her Majesty “does not care” about Meghan Markle’s electoral interventions in the United States | Royal | News

Meghan Markle has raised a rallying cry for her fellow Americans to vote in the next election race in the United States between Donald Trump and the Democratic candidate and former Vice President Joe Biden. The Duchess of Sussex said voting on November 3 was “exceptionally important” to “see the change we all need and deserve.”

Grant Harrold, who worked as a butler for the Royal Family for seven years, claimed that since Meghan and Harry had walked away from their high royal positions, the Duchess’s involvement in politics would not have worried the Queen.

The former royal butler said Express.co.uk: “I think the Queen would not be concerned in any way, as they have drifted away from the royal family to pursue their own lives and careers.

“So most likely she will say that it is a personal decision and that it is up to her to do what she wants.”

Meghan and Harry currently live in Santa Barbara, Los Angeles, and Harrold hopes that the Duchess, who retained her US citizenship, will cast her vote in the election.

Following Meghan and Harry’s decision to exit the firm at the end of March, the royal commentator added that the 39-year-old could also go further and endorse a candidate.

Mr Harrold said: “I’m sure Meghan will vote in the next election because of how we’ve seen her urging everyone else to do so.

“However, who you choose to vote for will obviously depend on your preferences.

“As a member of royalty, this would have been unthinkable, but since they walked away from that life, she could support a candidate for president.”

Polls between Republican Trump and Democrat Biden continue to narrow before Election Day.

Harrold insists that any public endorsement of Meghan “would certainly highlight that candidate,” but he is not convinced that it influences voters for either man to secure the keys to the White House.

The royal expert added: “Given the high profile that Meghan now has, any endorsement would certainly highlight that candidate with such a high profile supporter.

“Because that’s what the community is about and that’s what this election is specifically about.

“We are only 75 days away from Election Day and that is very close, and yet there is a lot of work to be done in that amount of time, because we all know what is at stake this year.”

“I know, I think you all certainly know that if you are here at this fun event with us, then you are equally mobilized and energized to see the change we all need and deserve.”
