Sony has updated the PS5 to ensure that owners can easily determine when they are playing a cross-generation game.
Many users have found the cross-generation compatibility on the PS5 to be quite confusing, not knowing whether they are playing the PS4 or PS5 version of a title. According to a recent discovery of Chronicle of videogames, a new update aims to clarify that problem.
When users want to load a cross-gen game now, it will confirm which version it is, as well as offering you the option to switch to the other iteration. It means that players will be able to fully confirm which version they want to play, rather than accidentally starting the wrong copy.

Ubisoft title owners like Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla and Watch Dogs: Legion they encountered issues where their consoles were not allowing them to load the PS5 version of the game. The issue seemed to strictly affect European owners, with a temporary fix to change the console region to Turkey.
Post-launch updates for the PS5 have sought to eliminate any bugs and glitches that owners have been experiencing. Issues such as players encountering a “Queue to download” error and unable to download games were rectified, as well as another issue where installed physical games were deleting themselves.
Despite the problems, the PS5 has been a worldwide success, as the console was shown to have had the largest console launch in US history. Stock shortages are also getting lower, as many retailers The UK have reported that no more consoles will be available until 2021.
