While we wait for Sony to show us what PS5 It seems that the console, fans have not wasted time providing their own suggestions with unique concepts. While the design we show you here may not be as accurate for the final product, it’s certainly the most imaginative shot we’ve seen so far.
The design is from the YouTube account of French PlayStation enthusiasts at VRPlayer (via Notebook), who made the elegant trailer that you can see below.
The most notable difference between this design and the others we’ve seen is without a doubt the overall shape. While most PS5 concepts stick to something akin to a rectangle, it has carved out Sony’s new console in the form of an arc cornerstone, or in less grand language, a ‘cue’, like a Reddit comment puts it.
Using a white design with black accents and blue LED lighting (such as the DualSense controller we’ve already seen), this design also has the controller symbols engraved on the case.
The removable cooling cap is also not familiar. Removing the center panel from this imagined PS5 reveals the fan lit with more blue LEDs. What this is for is unclear, but the inclusion of lighting seems to indicate that the designer intends to show the fan.
This concept also imagines a redesigned PSVR kit, which includes both headphones and controllers. It is rumored that we will get a new generation of Sony’s virtual reality system along with the PS5, hence its appearance here.
If you don’t like the mostly white design, VR4Player also offers an all-black and red Spider-Man option. Sony has made game-specific reskins for its consoles in the past, and as we’re eagerly awaiting another Spiderman Gaming in the next generation PS5, this is probably a popular choice.
We hope to finally hear more from Sony and see the PS5 in person at an event this month. Let’s have our first look at Xbox Series X games during a special live streaming event on May 7. Both consoles are expected to debut in November this year, providing enhancements to players like fast load times, 8K support, and ray tracing.
