Takaya Imamura has named his last day at Nintendo today, ending a 32-year career working on many of the company’s most iconic games and characters.
Imamura started at Nintendo in 1989 and played a key role in the modeling and design of many of the characters that appear in franchises such as F-zero, Star fox, and the Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask.
A look back at his shared career by Polygon credits him as the designer of majora mask‘s Tingle, and places it in key conversations that led to the creation of F-zerofloating vehicles. He is also the sure reason Star fox the characters look like other Nintendo people; Imamura modeled characters like Fox McCloud, Falco, and others from Shigeru Miyamoto, Tsuyoshi Watanabe, and other members of the Nintendo team.
