Prince of Persia: the Sands of Time remake delayed two months

The remake of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, announced in September, it was postponed until March 18, 2021. Ubisoft’s original plans required a January release.

Last week, Ubisoft Massive canceled plans for “Codename Nightmare,” a game event for Tom Clancy’s The Division 2, which was also announced during the September Ubisoft Forward livestream.

In September, Annu Koul, the producer in charge of the Sands of time project, said the remake will bring back all the familiar characters from the series. “It’s just that we’ve given it a little more flavor, more enhancement,” he said. At the same time, series creator Jordan Mechner told fans that he had played a version of the remake and said, “It gave me a tingle.”

The Prince of Persia franchise, dating back to 1989, hasn’t seen a new entry since 2008. Prince of Persia on PlayStation 3, Windows PC and Xbox 360. Over the past twelve years, the series has declined in importance as Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed franchise emerged.
