Fans of Pokemon Sword and Shield may want to check out this week’s surprise Nintendo Direct conference, which revolves entirely around the Crown Tundra expansion for Nintendo Switch.

The upcoming Pokemon Sword and Shield DLC pack will take center stage during a live broadcast at 2pm BST on September 29.

“Brace yourselves, Trainers – we have updates for you on the upcoming Pokémon Sword Expansion Pass and the Pokémon Shield Expansion Pass!” read the official announcement.

While it’s unclear exactly what Nintendo has planned for the event, it’s safe to say that the release date for the Crown Tundra DLC will finally be revealed.

Nintendo hinted at an imminent release date following the release of a recent Crown Tundra trailer.

“The wild adventure continues …”. read the official description.

“Lead an expedition into the snowy realm of Crown Tundra and uncover the mystery of the legendary Pokémon Calyrex that once ruled over it. Coming soon.”

The second Sword and Shield DLC currently has a fall release window.

“Through a new form of cooperative play, your journey will even allow you to explore the depths of Pokémon Dens, which you could only see before during Max Raid Battles.

“You can even see Legendary Pokémon from previous Dynamaxing games right before your eyes, and you can catch them!”

Crown Tundra is the continuation of the Isle of Armor DLC, which takes place in a place made up of beaches, swamps, forests, caves, and dunes.

“Take an apprenticeship from former Galar Champion Mustard, who is also Champion Leon’s mentor!” Nintendo explains.

“Meet new rivals, hone your skills, and master new fighting styles with the Legendary Pokémon: Kubfu.

“You will also be able to Gigantamax, the final Evolution of the Pokémon associated with which you chose to start your journey. We look forward to discovering Rillaboom, Cinderace or Inteleon in their new form, and a new G-Max Move!”
