Sometimes the marketing tricks make so much sense that we can’t help but resist.
PlayStation has partnered with Transport for London to temporarily rename some of the city’s iconic tube stations with the distinctive shapes of the console, marking the launch of the PS5.
The Roundel signs marking the entrances to the Oxford Circus tube station have been renamed with the shapes of the PlayStation controller buttons (leaving the classic red circle as is), and the inner walls of the Bakerloo lines platforms , Victoria and Central have also been replaced.

Other stations have also changed their names as part of the campaign, including Mile End station, which will be known as “Miles End” in honor of the launch of Marvel Spider-Man: Miles Morales.

The Oxford Circus acquisition will remain active for only 48 hours on November 18 and 19, while the Mile End, Lancaster Gate, Seven Sisters and West Ham acquisition will remain until December 16. If you are in London, remember: the city is still under England’s national blockade, so you should only check the signs as part of a trip for work, education or other essential services.
Yes, it is a marketing campaign, but it is a clever combination of two iconic uses of popular culture in simple ways; it certainly makes sense.
