See in EarthSky Community Photos. | John Nelson was in Puget Sound, Washington, on September 24, 2020 when he captured this image. Do you see Jupiter and its moons in the upper left corner? John wrote: “We had quite a heavy rain all day (September 24), so I wasn’t expecting to see the Jupiter / moon conjunction, but I was pleasantly surprised when the clouds cleared for a few hours. It would have been nice if Jupiter was a little closer, but I was happy to pick up the conjunction. The 4 Galilean moons were visible. I brightened them up a bit in Photoshop Elements to make them easier to see in a photo that can’t be magnified. From left to right the moons are Callisto, Ganymede, Europa and just to the right of Jupiter is Io. “Thanks John.

Bottom line: Photos from the EarthSky community of the moon sweep past the largest planets in our solar system, Jupiter and Saturn, in late September 2020.
