A new trailer for Persona 5 Strikers shows a glimpse of the Phantom Thieves abilities in the game Warrior dynasty playing style. In spite of Persona 5 Strikers’ launch in the west that was revealed last month, the game’s marketing has gone full blast, with Person 5 even crossing with mobile games like Lost Dragalia Y AFK Arena.

Persona 5 Strikers is a sequel to Person 5, which takes place after the events of the original game. The new trailer posted by Atlus shows all the major phantom thieves in depth, along with the new character Sophia. Each character section shows a brief amount of play on the battlefield, including the special attacks that the characters can perform; a staple of Warrior dynasty games. The only exception in this storefront is Futaba, also known as Oracle, shown making his way through a door. This suggests that it will play a supporting role similar to its appearance in Person 5, where she appeared as the narrator of Phantom Thieves. Various elements of the story are also shown, with one of the first shots being Phantom Thieves welcoming Joker.

Interestingly, the main protagonist Joker is tagged as the protagonist in the trailer, rather than being given a name. This has been done before in other Person games by introducing the protagonist, but the protagonists often have a canonical name established in non-game sources. The recent English dub of the Person 5 The anime referred to Joker by the same name that was given to him in the original Japanese dub: Ren Amamiya. Since Joker doesn’t have a name set in Persona 5 StrikersIt would appear that the “canon” names given to these protagonists are only used in source material outside of games.

the Warrior dynasty playstyle is a very different way of counting Persona 5 Strikers’ history of the JRPG format that the series is known for. Recently, Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity released as a Warrior dynasty style game that had its own story to tell. Then Persona 5 Strikers, where do we have to go Person 5? Be Person 5 continue to receive spin-offs and crosses with other franchises, or Person 6 soon be on the way? Players can find out where Persona 5 Strikers grabs its cast of characters on February 23 when it launches on PS4, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
