The outbreak has caused much confusion and panic in public places with people rushing to stores to stock up on supplies. In the process, the social distancing rules have been flouted almost every day.
However, the biggest problem is the open defiance of lockdown and social distancing rules that has been observed for the past 9-10 months in various countries.
The lockdown rules were circumvented by thousands of people, who refused to take the pandemic seriously. It started with rogue viruses, or ‘Covidiots’ as they were called, who flocked to convenience stores without masks, but soon morphed into social activities like crown parties and walks on the beach.
More than a year after the pandemic and the virus rebels continue to disobey the rules in almost all countries.
Protests by anti-vaccines and maskless people have continued unabated.
A recent protest involving unmasked people shouting “COVID is a hoax” in front of a famous London hospital has left doctors outraged. A short clip of the protest has garnered more than 4.7 million views with thousands of comments from netizens.
Dr. Matthew Lee, who works at the hospital, wrote on Twitter that he was working the night shift when he encountered hundreds of drunk and unmasked people outside the hospital. He added that many had ‘COVID is a hoax right outside the hospital
“I worked the last shift at A&E SHO in NYE and came out on this. Hundreds of drunk and unmasked people in large groups yelling “Covid is a hoax” literally outside the building where hundreds are sick and dying. Why are people still not realizing the seriousness of this pandemic? ” he wrote.

In follow-up tweets, Dr. Lee wrote that he was disgusted and heartbroken that people were protesting just outside a place where people were dying or fighting for their lives.
“I am disgusted but mostly heartbroken. I wish people could see the amount of # COVID19 and death in hospitals, and the sacrifices healthcare workers make. This week alone has been very hard. Your ignorance is hurting others. I really wish people were safe, ”he wrote.
