More than 80 organizations have come together to unite in United Through Sports (UTS) Virtual Youth Festival 2020.
The theme of the festival is “One Spirit, One Heart” and over the course of five days, young athletes from around the world will come together to compete in Max Fit, Aero Fit, Talent, Inclusive Sport and the Unified Fitness Challenge.
The festival, to be held from November 18 to 22, will bring together Olympic and non-Olympic sports under the sponsorship of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), the International Paralympic Committee (IPC), Special Olympics, SportAccord and the Global Association of Sports Federations International. .
In addition to a four-day sports competition, which takes place virtually, a five-day educational program is developed.
The educational program is designed to cover topics including anti-doping and fair play, youth leadership, and the IPC’s “I Am Possible.”
The educational program includes panel discussions covering topics such as inclusion, equality, Olympic truth, and topics including sports towards peace, sport as a human right, millennials for the future, protection of youth, fair play in the sport, athletes united and sports leaders united.
The opening ceremony will take place virtually and will be broadcast from Bangkok in Thailand.
It will connect cities such as Yekaterinburg in Russia, Gold Coast in Australia, Milan Cortina in Italy, Pyeongchang in South Korea, Washington DC in the United States, Astana in Kazakhstan, Los Angeles in the United States and Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates.
More than 200 young people will perform at the Opening Ceremony that will be broadcast on the Olympic channel on November 20, corresponding to the United Nations World Children’s Day
During the opening ceremony, the President of the International Olympic Committee, Thomas Bach, the President of the International Paralympic Committee, Andrew Parsons, the Executive Director of Special Olympics, Mary Davis, and the eighth Secretary-General of the United Nations, Ban Ki-Moon , they will transmit messages to the virtual assistants.
The competition is scheduled to take place November 19-22.
The workshops will take place on November 18 and 19, with a conference scheduled for Friday, November 20 and panel discussions taking place November 20-22.
