After all, it looks like there might be an Oppo watch with ECG landing, and the company teases a new edition of its smartwatch.
Oppo took to Weibo to test the Oppo Watch’s ECG, a new version that seems set to land in China.
The original Oppo Watch was widely reported to include ECG, but the feature did not make it to the final version.
The teaser claims that the company is already licensed for the ECG function, although we assume this is the case in China. We will have to see if there are other territories.
The teaser also says that we will get a proper announcement on September 24.

This is clearly exciting and leads the Oppo to a hotheaded company. ECG wearables currently include Apple Watch Series 6, Samsung Galaxy Watch 3, Fitbit Sense, and Withings ScanWatch.
But it remains to be seen whether we see this outside of China.
First of all, the Chinese version of the Oppo Watch and the global release version run on different operating systems.
While the features and design are nearly identical, the company went from its Color operating system for the Chinese version to Google’s Wear operating system for the global one.
And it took almost 4 months for that global launch to occur, so it makes us skeptical that the Oppo Watch ECG was a global product from the start.
Add that Oppo has chosen to poke fun at the watch on Weibo, indicating that this is a China-focused product.
Fortunately, we won’t have to wait long to find out about Oppo’s plans. Stay tuned.
