Anonymous, 1 hour agoOldgrandpa fears technology version year 2021 Those 50 / 65W fast charge = 10v * 5a then p … moreWhile you can take advantage of a lower resistance in a low-state-of-charge lithium battery to quickly fill them to around 50-60%, all current lithium cells charged above 1C will hold a higher coulombic efficiency lever, also known as degradation, cell manufacturers actually suggest charging up to 0.8C rate.
29m for 0 to 100% means a 2C charge rate and will * kill * the battery quickly, unless you have a magic battery with half the internal resistance of current batteries and no, those don’t exist yet.
Take the Tesla Model 3, thanks to its many cells, it allows very fast charging when the cells are depleted and you can win much faster, but even with a buffer (the bms limits the maximum and minimum voltage, so even at 100 % is not really 100% like in smartphone batteries) to charge 0-100% still takes about 1 hour (1C rate) even in fast V3 superchargers.
So yeah, instead of telling other people that they are afraid that people should stop listening to the claims of these companies, stop being ignorant and try to understand how batteries work.
