Leaks and rumors about the OnePlus 9 are starting to pick up speed, and today we have details on the next flagship’s range of cameras, as well as unofficial versions of the Pro version of the phone.
First, the camera: Sources speaking to 91mobiles say the OnePlus 9 will come with a 48MP primary sensor (outputting 12MP images), plus a 48MP ultra-wide sensor (up to 16MP on the OnePlus 8T), plus a third sensor. .
At the moment, it is not known which will be the third sensor; it could be a monochrome sensor or a macro sensor. The OnePlus 8T has a main sensor, an ultra-wide sensor, a macro sensor, and a depth sensor.
It seems like a pretty major camera update could be in the works at that point. We’ve already seen leaked versions of the standard OnePlus 9 phone from the same source, showing the triple camera array located in the upper left corner around the phone’s packaging.
Speaking of leaked renders, the generally trustworthy OnLeaks has shared images of what the OnePlus 9 Pro is supposed to look like. Apparently, we’re in line for a 6.55-inch curved screen with a hole for the selfie camera in the upper left corner.
The back of the phone, which is said to be made of glass, houses a rear camera setup that could include up to four camera lenses – one more than the standard OnePlus 9, which “could still change,” though according to OnLeaks.
OnLeaks also says that the OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 Pro will officially appear in March. That lines up with other predictions we’ve heard, and it’s a bit earlier than you’d expect, considering the OnePlus 8 appeared in April.
The entire smartphone calendar may move a month to 2021 – Samsung is anticipated to launch the Galaxy S21 sometime during January, though S-series phones generally make their debut in February.
