A tearful Van Jones, live on air, pondered the news, his voice cracking. “It’s easier to be a parent this morning, it’s easier to be a parent, it’s easier to tell kids that character matters,” he wrote on Twitter, sharing the clip of his reaction on live TV.

US President-elect Joe Biden vowed Saturday to unite Americans and seek to heal divisions after what he called a “convincing” victory over Donald Trump.
“This is America’s time to heal,” an exuberant Biden told supporters at an outdoor rally in his hometown of Wilmington, Delaware.
“I promise to be a president who seeks not to divide but to unify,” said Biden, in stark contrast to Trump’s nearly four years of polarization.
The 77-year-old Biden will be the oldest president-elect in American history and the first to topple a sitting commander-in-chief after a stint since Bill Clinton defeated George HW Bush in 1992.
Biden’s running mate, California Sen. Kamala Harris, is the first black and Native American woman to serve as vice president.
