Oculus Quest 2 and Quest users will be able to use Facebook Messenger without leaving a world of virtual reality.
Platform owner Facebook announced that Messenger support for the pair of all-in-one VR headsets is rolling out right now. And it allows non-Quest users to send messages to those with Quest or Quest 2.
Using Messenger in virtual reality is not as difficult as it sounds. To chat, users can type in virtual reality, use prewritten conversation starters, or use the speech-to-text feature.
The other cool feature is that multiple Oculus Quest users on Messenger can easily form a group and start a game together. Switching between Facebook accounts makes it easy for other family members to play games with their friends when they decide to jump into virtual reality.
Facebook wants to emphasize that the Messenger update is not just about VR player communication, but a tool for broader interactions in and around virtual experiences.
