Nvidia and its partners are preparing to launch GeForce RTX 3070 graphics cards with a fifteen-day delay on Thursday. You may be interested to know that Palit has shared a teaser video showing his Stormborn JetStream RTX 3070 already. Some believe that Nvidia changed the launch of the RTX 3070 to steal something from AMD’s RDNA 2 special event, which will air live tomorrow. Meanwhile, a significant amount of detail has suddenly emerged about an all-new GeForce RTX 30-series graphics card, and it’s not the RTX 3060 that some were expecting on the menu, but rather an RTX 3060 Ti.
The first sizable proof that an Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060 Ti is on the way came shortly thanks to Chinese retailers listing such graphics cards on Taobao, one of Alibaba’s trading sites. Avery on Twitter noticed these listings and captured some screenshots to share yesterday afternoon. You can see that the supposed RTX 3060 Ti comes with a price tag of Y2,999, which is roughly equivalent to £ 340.
The list above basically says that the GeForce RTX 3060 Ti performs on par with the RTX 2080. These Chinese retailers are expecting a 30th November release date.
Moving on to our second test for the GeForce RTX 3060 Ti, a sample of this same card just passed GPU-Z verification and can be found in the TPU database. Matthew Smith, TPU Database Editor drew attention at the entrance last night and VideoCardz caught my eye.
From the verification data, we can see that the GeForce RTX 3060 Ti is based on the GA104 GPU, like the RTX 3070, but it has needed some trimming, so it has only 4,864 CUDA cores and 80 ROP, with a base / 1,410 / 1,665MHz boost. Smith noted that the TMUs were not read correctly in the app. The memory equipped is 8GB of GDDR6 on a 256-bit bus and runs at 1,750MHz, basically the same as the RTX 3070. The model that was verified seems to come from HP.
