Sure, the makers still sell Comet Lake and Ice Lake, but they were released a long time ago. On the other hand, Tiger Lake is considerably more expensive than its predecessors. Still, I find it very strange to launch it with a state-of-the-art chip. If it is AMD, all manufacturers use the current generation.

It looks decent.

This competes directly with MSI Modern 14, both AMD and Ryzen versions. Although MSI is 7k cheaper.
Not forgetting that many providers offer much better for a much lower price.

I know a person with a laptop that contains an AMD chipset. The person complains regularly, because he has an AMD chipset, and says that he would like to have a laptop with an Intel chipset. I will share your comment here with that person later today.

People’s perception of AMD has changed dramatically after Ryzen, AMD has already eaten a significant chunk of Intel’s market and that doesn’t just include gamers. Many people doing demanding jobs know that AMD performs better, so it is not accurate to say only gamers like AMD. Intel CPUs are actually better than AMD for gaming, but that has changed with the launch of Zen 3. Integrated GPUs, AMD wins hands down, but now the gap is very small. Like the record players.

If it weren’t for AMD, who knows how long Intel will put two cores in laptops. Sure, that’s enough performance, but if there are hardly any improvements in each generation, why upgrade? Most people don’t realize that and end up wasting money. Now we can have a whopping eight cores in an ultrabook, doesn’t that sound good? And the ultrabooks are aimed at students and official workers. You can play games on it, but it’s not as good as gaming laptops.

AMD Ryzen 5 or 7 would have been great instead of Intel SoC

Intel held the gaming crown until amd released Zen 3 and this happened very recently.
AMD has led all departments since Zen 2 and has been a leader in all multi-threaded applications since Zen 1.
Security? 235+ vulnerabilities in the last 18 months or so on Intel Core processors. (The combined total of vulnerabilities disclosed in amd, nvidia, ARM, VIA, etc. must be less than 50 in the same time period.) Many of the vulnerabilities in Intel cannot even be patched at the software level and those that can cause severe loss of performance.
Intel processors run hotter, are less efficient under load (but still more efficient when idle), and cost more (Intel tax).

Intel has brainwashed ignorant masses into thinking that the best processors are core i7 / i5, even if these ignoramuses don’t know that i7 is a brand that Intel uses (people still ask if a phone’s processor is faster than Intel). This is due to years of campaigns and publicity by Intel. It has nothing to do with actual performance.
The games have nothing to do with amd. In fact, amd processors are even more relevant for creating multithreaded content and applications.

And another thing here, as someone pointed out, is the fact that they use older Intel processors which are terrible in the gpu department, as opposed to the newer XE graphics which may rival a bit much older vega graphics.

You were the same person who commented that Intel has the best processors at the high end. This is not true either.
Intel fails everywhere except in the lower end ‘Atom’ space where they have no x86 competitors at the moment because amd no longer designs ‘cat’ cores. (And VIA is no longer relevant).
So stop fooling people.

They should have released a version of RYZEN too …

Anonymous, 1 hour agobecause there is no amd driver support. And it is expensive to write your own controller. Manufacturer b … moreNo driver support for AMD? Are you sure this is relevant in the current time? AMD already offers mobile drivers directly from the desktop branch, so Ryzen mobile users no longer need to rely on the manufacturer. AMD has excellent driver support, even for GPUs as old as the 7000 series.

What do you mean by paying for R&D to use Ryzen? If they use Intel, don’t they need to pay Intel? Isn’t that business buying potato chips? If they pay for R&D, why is the AMD equivalent cheaper than Intel?

I’m not sure, who are your target buyers? Home users or corporate clients. The 14-inch IPS LCD screen indicates that it is designed for business professionals. Anyway, the price is really high for a normal home user.
Dell provides the licensed version of the latest version of MS Office along with the pre-installed OEM version of Windows 10. Why pay more money to buy MS Office separately?

Do you want a 50% discount on the launch?

Seriously, Intel? And it is an i5-10210U. An i5-1135G7 already exists with graphics performance on par with the Vega 6. It costs a lot, too. The weight provides an advantage compared to the competition. I still don’t understand why manufacturers don’t make Ryzen ultralight laptops.
