HMD Global, the company behind the Nokia brand, has just announced two new phones, a pair of true wireless earbuds, and pre-order availability for the previously announced Nokia 8.3 5G. The 8.3 is available to order now for $ 699, and will be followed by the Nokia 3.4, the Nokia 2.4, and the Nokia Power Earbuds.
First announced in the spring, the Nokia 8.3 5G (pictured above) has a 6.81-inch screen, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G processor, 8GB of RAM, and 128GB of storage. A circular camera stack on the back has a 64MP main lens, a 12MP ultra-wide lens, and a 2MP depth sensor and macro lens. It supports 5G connectivity, but will only work on T-Mobile’s network in the US.
Available in blue, the Nokia 8.3 5G is available to pre-order now on Amazon for $ 699 (although we are still awaiting confirmation for a shipping date). It will hit Best Buy in the coming weeks and will have a supporting role in the next James Bond movie. No time to die November 20th.
Nokia 3.4
The Nokia 3.4, meanwhile, is a straightforward phone that will be available exclusively through Amazon in the fall. It has a 6.39-inch screen, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 460 processor, 3GB of RAM, and 64GB of storage. The rear camera stack features a 13MP main lens, 5MP ultra-wide shooter, and 2MP depth sensor.
While the Nokia 3.4 should work on any carrier in the US, it lacks bands 29 and 30 for higher speed on AT&T, as well as band 71 for T-Mobile customers in suburban and rural areas. Pricing and availability are expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
Nokia 2.4
The Nokia 2.4 is another budget offering on Amazon with a 6.5-inch screen, a MediaTek Helio P22 processor, 2GB of RAM, and 32GB of storage. There is a 13MP and 2MP primary depth sensor on the back. It also lacks dual-band Wi-Fi and features a less common micro USB charging port.
HMD did not provide details on support from the US carrier, although we believe that the Nokia 2.4 will have similar band coverage to the 3.4 model. We don’t have pricing details or a release date yet.
All three phones are part of the Android One program and will receive rapid operating system and security updates for at least two years.
Nokia Power Headphones
HMD also launched Nokia Power Earbuds for the US market. The true wireless earbuds feature an IPX7 rating for water and sweat, and use Bluetooth 5.0 for universal connectivity. They also boast an unheard of 150-hour battery life, although it’s unclear how long the earbuds can last compared to the amount of power carried in the charging case.
The Nokia Power headphones are exclusive to Amazon and will be available in the fall for $ 99.
We plan to take a closer look at most of these products as they come out, so be sure to check back.
