How the WhatsApp function works
WhatsApp has set a time limit of 7 days after which the message will automatically disappear from the chat, if you have activated the function.

While there is no confirmation as to whether WhatsApp plans to provide users with options to manually set the time limit for a message to disappear, it did say that it “starts with 7 days because we believe it offers peace of mind that conversations are not permanent.” while still being practical so you don’t forget what you were talking about. ”
How to activate it
Users must open a contact’s chat on WhatsApp and select the Disappearing Messages setting as “on”. You can disable the setting at any time in the same way.
Not everything disappears
While the feature aims to make chats more secure, it has loopholes. For example, if someone quotes and replies to a disappearing message, the quoted text will remain in the chat even after seven days.
Similarly, if a user creates a backup before a message disappears, it will be included in the backup. “Disappearing messages will be deleted when a user restores from a backup,” WhatsApp explained in its blog post.
If you have sent media with the disappear feature turned on, it will disappear from the chat but will be saved to your phone if auto download is turned on.
The feature will be rolled out to all users by the end of the month.
