That’s according to Capcom’s insider Dusk Golem, which has reclaimed that the game is being developed using a Switch-compatible version of the RE Engine, as opposed to the older MT Framework engine used for recent series entries.
“I’m going to smash a dream with my RE Engine on Switch talk”, Dusk Golem additional. “RE7, RE2 and RE3 will not reach the Switch.
“They tried porting RE7 to Switch for a while once, but had a hard time getting a satisfactory result. RE Engine games for Switch should be made with Switch in mind. “
During a shareholders meeting this summer, Capcom said it had no plans to bring 2018’s Monster Hunter World to Nintendo Switch.
However, he added: “We are looking into the development of Monster Hunter games for teenagers and we hope they look forward to what the future holds.”
When asked for more details on a new series targeting teens during a financial results presentation this month, Capcom said “there is no information we can share at this time.”
Capcom confirmed on Friday that Monster Hunter World: Iceborne’s final update will feature the return of the legendary elder dragon Fatalis.
The fifth title update for the game will be released on September 30 at 5 p.m. PD / 8 p.m. ET / October 1 at 1 a.m. BST.
The Monster Hunter series launched in 2004 and cumulative shipments exceeded 64 million units as of June 2020.
In terms of Capcom lifetime shipments, the franchise is one place ahead of Street Fighter V “href =” https://www.videogameschronicle.com/games/street-fighter-v/ “> Street Fighter (45 million ) and only second to Resident Evil (series) “href =” https://www.videogameschronicle.com/games/resident-evil-series/ “> Resident Evil (103 million).
Monster Hunter World has shipped 16.1 million units, is Capcom’s best-selling game of all time, while its Iceborne expansion has shipped 5.8 million units.
