Is there a song that is stuck in your mind but you have no idea how to find it? I bet you can at least hum it. The good news is that Google has just released a unique feature that allows users to find melodies by humming, so you’re good to go if you sing or whistle the melody on your phone.
The technology capable of identifying songs by singing, humming and whistling is not entirely new, having been around for more than a decade.
Now, Google’s machine learning systems are trained to “identify songs based on a variety of sources, including humans singing, whistling or humming, as well as studio recordings.” allowing you to remove other unnecessary elements from a song and find its particular sequence.
Using the feature is not much easier, when opening the latest version of the Google app or Google Search widget from your phone, tap click the Microphone icon and say “what is this song?” wave Search for a song , then start humming to get the name of the song. Of course, if you are using the Google Assistant, all you need to do is say “Ok Google, what is this song?” and then start humming.
