Liverpool managed three wins out of three in the Premier League on Monday night as it continued its perfect start to the season, but there was another sold out that Jurgen Klopp will be celebrating.
In addition to the Reds having won all three games so far, placing them only behind Leicester City on the table, Naby Keita is also about to enter new territory at Anfield.
Keita has now started in all three league games Liverpool have played so far, against Leeds United, Chelsea and Arsenal, which is a streak of the length he did not achieve once last season, according to Transfermarkt.
The most the Guinean has achieved in the league is four consecutive starts, achieved the season before the last, and even then only twice, but that is something he could well equalize against Aston Villa, especially considering that it is expected that Thiago Alcántara will still be missing.
Include the two games he started at the end of last season against Chelsea and Newcastle United and the 25-year-old midfielder has chained five consecutive league games together – simple for most, but certainly not for him.
Keita has never missed more than seven games in a row due to injury, but has always been plagued by nagging problems, such as when he retired from the Sheffield United game in the warm-up at the turn of the year.
On The Debrief podcast, Theo Squires said: “Keita had a fantastic game and has really taken on his role in this Liverpool team. He is dominating the games a bit more with his pressure style.

“When Klopp first came in, it was Adam Lallana the leader of the press, and it’s almost that kind of performance of him. [against Arsenal].
“Arsenal love to stay on that baseline and he was the one who was directly on Bernd Leno and directly on the defenders.”
Keita has looked faster, stronger and fitter at the start of the season than he has for much of his Liverpool career, but the task now is to maintain that level of form, sharpness and fitness.

That has always been the challenge for the player, although his coach Klopp never gave up his trust in the former RB Leipzig star.
“It was bad luck and in life you always need luck. [his Liverpool career] very well, everyone forgot about that, then got injured. [I was] never doubt its quality, “Klopp once said.
That was early December 2019, although it could easily have been many other times since Keita’s £ 52 million trade in 2018.
The quality of the talented midfielder has never been in doubt, and now with a streak of matches under his belt and Thiago out until after the international break, Keita has the perfect opportunity to kick again.
