The upcoming Microsoft Surface Pro 8, which has already appeared in numerous reports, is expected to launch early next year. While it is known to look physically similar to the Surface Pro 7, the company could be exceeding the specifications of its base model.
We have already heard reports about Surface Pro 8 with 11th Gen Intel Core processors with Iris Xe graphics or even with the AMD Renoir platform. Although, the update that Microsoft is finally tackling with the next laptop is the problem that the base model arrives with a Core i3 processor and only 4GB of RAM, which is less than what most smartphones come with. But according to a new WindowsLatest (via MSPowerUser) report, the company will offer Surface Pro 8 with at least 8GB of RAM.

At the moment, the Surface Pro 7 only came with just 4GB of RAM in the base model and the 8GB RAM variant only came with Core i5 and Core i7 processors. Although, the report also suggests that the 4GB model might still be available. In other words, the 8GB variant for the Core i3 might just be a paid upgrade on the lower variant. This would mean that the Surface Pro 8 could arrive in:
- Core i3, 4GB RAM, 128GB SSD / Core i3, 8GB RAM, 128GB SSD.
- Core i5, 8GB RAM, 128GB SSD or 256GB SSD.
- Core i7, 16 GB of RAM and 256 GB of SSD, 512 GB of SSD or 1TB of SSD storage.
Unfortunately, this is still an unconfirmed report, so take this news with a pinch of salt for now. Currently, it is also unknown if the Surface Laptop 4 and Surface Pro 8 are expected to launch in January 2021. So we may find out more details soon. Stay tuned for more information as we will provide further updates as additional information becomes available.
