Microsoft Teams users will soon be able to transfer calls between desktops and mobile devices. This will allow them to move around their homes or offices during video conferences. According to a Microsoft blog, this year’s pandemic forced IT leaders around the world to shift their resource priorities with the use of video communications skyrocketing. While people quickly adapted to online meetings on the go, one of the main challenges they faced was maintaining a physical connection that usually occurs when one is physically present during a meeting.
The teams will also identify potential spam calls, allowing users to understand who the caller is.
According to Microsoft, studies have shown that a person’s voice is the signal that creates personal connections and creates clarity. Microsoft has added that the use of Teams Calling has also exploded, with Teams users making more than 650 million calls in October, 11 times more than in March of this year.
The new update for the Teams platform has included several new features for general users. An enhanced calling app brings together your dial pad, call history, voicemail, contacts, and settings in one place, making it easy to connect to your workflow.
They have also added an option to save call recordings to OneDrive and SharePoint. Making and receiving calls in the car also becomes easier thanks to the introduction of CarPlay support for Teams Calling. With CarPlay, users can use their vehicle’s built-in controls to operate Teams.
The teams will also identify potential spam calls, allowing users to understand who the caller is.
Additionally, Teams makes it easy to make and receive calls from several different endpoints, including mobile and desktop devices. Starting in 2021, users will be able to switch calls between mobile devices and desktop terminals with the user-friendly interface of the Equipment application.
Microsoft has also introduced a number of other features, including call merging (allows users to join several different calls to combine and simplify conversations), low data mode, and improved reverse number lookup that will allow users to view the name of the caller. during the call and in the activity feed and voicemail.
