Microsoft boss Phil Spencer has told Xbox fans that the company is “working as hard as it can” to create enough Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S consoles to meet demand.
Joining the Major Nelson podcast (thanks, VGC), Spencer opened up about some of the most frequently asked questions she gets,
“I have some people, ‘why didn’t you build more? Why didn’t you start earlier? Why didn’t you send them earlier? I mean, all of those things, ”Spencer said.
“It’s really just about physics and engineering. We are not holding them back. We are building them as fast as we can. We have all the production lines in place. I was on the phone last week with Lisa Su at AMD, ‘how can we get more?’ So it’s something we constantly work on. But it’s not just us – games have really come true in 2020.
“Obviously, PlayStation 5 is in very short supply. When you look at graphics cards from AMD and Nvidia, I mean there is a lot of interest in games right now and console sales are just one sign of that. Game sales they are a sign. Hardware is in short supply, but we’re working as hard as we can. The teams are incredibly dedicated. I appreciate the patience of the people as we work to build more. “
“I’m incredibly proud of how the teams did it,” added Spencer, reflecting on the challenges of launching new consoles in 2020. “We managed to launch the consoles and we wish we had more. It’s selling too fast. But all in all, so proud of it. what the teams have been able to do. “
ICYMI, Ubisoft + could be offered as part of Microsoft’s Xbox Game Pass. The rumor has been circulating for a few days, but at the time, it hadn’t been corroborated by any notable sources and was loosely bundled into a larger collection of speculative Xbox “rumors.”
Now, however, a video game publisher has acknowledged that the rumor “has a good chance of being true based on things [they’d] heard, “which reportedly claims Ubisoft will join the service in late 2021.
If true, follow the EA Play line, which joined the console version of Xbox Game Pass in time for the launch of Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S.
There’s a lot to be excited about in the games this year. Here are the upcoming games 2021 we really can’t wait.
