HGTV’s latest hit is “Celebrity IOU,” a new series starring Drew and Jonathan Scott of “Property Brothers” fame.

Celebrities like Brad Pitt and Viola Davis join the brothers on the show, renovating the homes of the people they love.

But Michael Bublé took the show to the next level by giving away his grandfather’s house on Monday’s episode.

Michael Bublé helped the Scott brothers renovate their grandfather’s house for the caretaker of their relative, Minette

Bublé’s grandfather Demetrio played an important role in his growing up, as did his home.

Demetrius actually made the house himself.

“He built this with his own hands,” Bublé said of his grandfather’s house.

“The best moments of my life happened here,” said Bublé. “The songs I learned and the style of music I fell in love with, it all happened here.”

Bublé decided to team up with the Scott brothers to remodel the house before handing it over to Minette, his grandfather’s old caretaker and friend.

Minette and Demetrio were very close, and Bublé said they became a family “almost instantly”.

The Bublés decided to give the house to Minette so that she would stay in the family and so that Minette would never have to pay the rent again.

Bublé told the Scott brothers that he sent most of the money he earned to the Philippines for his family, so the financial gift of a home of his own would be immeasurable.

“I really hoped Minnete could live here,” Bublé said of his grandfather.

“Minette never does anything by herself, and I think my grandfather would be delighted to know that maybe we could reduce his burden a little and continue to have Minette help his family,” added the singer.

Bublé and the Scott brothers transformed the house into a more modern space before surprising Minette with it.

The 70s-style house hadn’t been renovated in years, so the trio wanted to give Minette a more updated place.

Her renovations focused on the entrance, kitchen, and living room, where Bublé said her family spent time socializing together throughout their lives.

Bublé was actively involved in the project, working with the Scotts on both demolition and moving furniture to the home.

However, he had to go on tour for most of the renovation, so he didn’t see the finished product until the Scotts did their magic.

“When I came in, I was really impressed,” Bublé said of the transformation of the house.

Minette was overwhelmed with emotion when Bublé told her that the house was for her.

Bublé and her family told Minette that they were filming her for a documentary, and Bublé did not reveal that the house would belong to her until the renovation was revealed.

Minette immediately burst into tears upon hearing the news.

“It is just amazing,” he said of the renovation, already imagining the Christmas reunion he could organize with his family from the Philippines as he looked around the house.

“My grandfather would be very happy,” added the singer. “Giving him this house would have been his dream.”
