Well-known Christmas icon Mariah Carey really ‘appreciates’ the Christmas gifts she receives from her children and always tries to ‘get over the sadness’ with the help of her loved ones.
The Grammy Award-winning singer touched on her children’s creative gifts for her during an interview with Closer magazine.
There, she quoted saying, “For me, just the love of children is all I really need. They do things to me and I save everything. But that doesn’t mean you don’t want to buy things at the store. I love that too. “
“When I get off the plane, our drivers have ‘All I want for Christmas …’ ringing, we have hot chocolate and some caramel liquor. Then we will go through the forest in a two-horse open sleigh. “
“We make a tree in the bedroom, then I make a large tree in the living room with decorations that I have had for years. Golden lights with whitish light, angels dressed in white and butterflies. We also make another tree in the family room area and we call it the Charlie Brown tree. It’s a sad little tree that we decorate with Polaroid pictures of ourselves. “
“Christmas represented a lot to me, but these people always ruined it. As an adult, I was able to recreate what that represented, so having a song that I can listen to every year is wonderful. “
“Now I have three Christmas albums and I get over the sadness by being festive. Anyone who ever tries to ruin Christmas for me will not be a happy person hanging out with me. “
