Madden 21 Next-Gen Release Date Confirmed, Details To Come Soon

Madden 21 will not be a launch title for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X | Yes, but its release will come soon after.

On Tuesday, EA confirmed that the Madden 21 release date on next-gen consoles will be December 4.

That’s a little less than a month after the consoles hit retailers on November 10 (Xbox) and November 12 (PS5), but it’s just in time for the holiday season. At this point, the consoles are out of stock and most retailers say they don’t know when they will have pre-orders available, and there’s also no information on when stock will be replenished after the initial launch.

That said, it would be a shock if both Sony and Microsoft didn’t work overtime to have more consoles available in time for the holidays. If that happens, we’ll likely see an increase in the number of purchases of the next-gen Madden 21.

EA reiterated its free upgrade offer for customers who purchased current generation versions. Those consumers will be able to download the next-generation version of Madden 21 at no additional cost if they purchase the initial version digitally.

As the details progress, we still don’t know much about the next-gen version of Madden. We’ve seen a couple of impressive screenshots like Tom Brady’s above, but at this point, we don’t even know if it’s from a game engine or some kind of intro.

However, we will learn much more next week as new information is expected to be shared soon.
