A former Anfield favorite has wondered if the World Cup winner would buy Jurgen Klopp’s philosophy in Merseyside.
Liverpool “need to sign another striker,” but Paris Saint-Germain superstar Kylian Mbappe may not be right for the club, according to John Barnes.
The Reds have been strongly tied to a world record move for Mbappe in recent months, but Jurgen Klopp played down rumors last year due to PSG’s reported valuation of more than £ 200 million ($ 249 million).
The 21-year-old is widely regarded as the best young player in Europe, and he already has the medals behind him to live up to such a label.

However, it was reported that Mane could be sold to Real Madrid, potentially leaving a place open for Mbappe to head to Anfield.
However, Barnes is not sure that the France international will smoothly put himself in Jurgen Klopp’s line, highlighting his lack of work when he is out of possession as a possible cause for concern.
“They will have to sign another striker at some point in case one of the three strikers leaves, but he will have to adjust to what Klopp wants,” said the former Liverpool midfielder. Daily mail.
“Kylian Mbappe is fantastic on the ball, but would he do the other things? I would suggest that if you are a 21-year-old superstar, your attitude is not going to change.”
Barnes continued to emphasize how “important” Firmino is to Liverpool’s current team, despite the fact that their goals and assists numbers consistently fall below Mane and Salah.
“I think he is the most important striker in what he gives the team,” he said. “It gives Liverpool invention in tight areas.”
Barnes added of Klopp’s unique recruitment and selection policy: “Klopp signs players to fit their system, not just because they looked great at their previous clubs.
