Here are Liverpool’s morning headlines for Friday, October 16.
Reds braced for deadline day outings
Several Liverpool players could be on the move ahead of today’s 5pm national transfer deadline, Liverpool’s ECHO editor-in-chief writes. Ian Doyle .
The Reds aren’t expected to sign anyone, but they may be looking to put some young players on loan to gain first-team experience.
Harry Wilson will be in between starts, with the Welshman set for a loan swap to Cardiff City.
Nat Phillips could also head out with Nottingham Forest, Middlesbrough and Bristol City tied, while Ben Woodburn could go on loan.
Liam Millar and Yasser Larouci are also tipped for departure, while Sepp van den Berg is available to be loaned.
Herbie Kane is ready to join Barnsley on a permanent deal.
Players must forget the absence of Alisson – Barnes
Liverpool must not let Alisson Becker’s absence affect their progress, says club legend John Barnes.
The Brazilian goalkeeper is expected to miss next month as he recovers from a shoulder injury.
His substitute, Adrian, made a costly mistake last time out during a crushing 7-2 loss to Aston Villa.
But Barnes has told Jurgen Klopp’s players to accept Adrian’s presence between the sticks before Saturday’s derby with Everton.
“Just because he’s not there doesn’t mean Adrian isn’t a bad goalkeeper. It just means that the defense is not as safe playing Adrian compared to Alisson, ”Barnes told the ECHO .
Look when Joe Gomez or Joel Matip have played alongside Virgil van Dijk. They are often much better than when they were with Dejan Lovren. Gomez or Matip are still the same player, but they feel more comfortable with a better player.
“That is something that Jurgen Klopp will tell his players: to forget the fact that Alisson is not there because they just have to move on.”
The international break is almost over and Premier League football is back in force.
Liverpool travel to Everton on Saturday for the first Merseyside derby of the season.

Klopp, the most important arrival of the FSG – Redknapp
Former Liverpool midfielder Jamie Redknapp believes Klopp has been the most important signing during the FSG era.
The Reds have made excellent moves in the transfer market during FSG’s 10-year tenure, with Luis Suárez, Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk just three examples.
Yet Redknapp believes that no signing comes close to matching the impact of Klopp, who earlier this month celebrated five years as Liverpool manager.
“The most important signing of the FSG has been Jurgen Klopp.” said Redknapp , now a Sky Sports expert.

“It has changed everything. He has given Liverpool a direction and a faith, and he is a good manager like any other – everyone would want to play for Jurgen Klopp.
“I imagine it was like that during the Bill Shankly days. Liverpool fans identify with Klopp and have a bond with him that is almost unique in the modern game.
“It is the best move FSG has made.”
