NEW DELHI: Consumer Electronics Giant LG recently unveiled its first smartphone with a rotating screen – LG Wing as part of its Explorer Project program. At the same event, the company also showed another unique smartphone design. The design of the phone presented by the company shows the screen of the phone extending once it is removed from the bottom. Once the screen is pulled out completely, it is turned upward to illuminate the screen. The teaser shared by the company ends with the caption ‘Hold your breath’.
At the time of the LG Wing launch, the company said the goal of its explorer project is to explore and inject new life into areas that remain untapped and also to reshape and expand the current user experience. The company also mentioned that the project will focus solely on the new usability that is discovered with innovative designs. LG also said that the design shown is for the company’s new and upcoming smartphone.
The South Korean tech giant did not reveal any details about the phone or how the display will work. Along with this, the company has also not shared any schedule for the launch of this new smartphone.
LG launched its first single dual screen smartphone as part of its new Explorer project. Called the LG Wing, the smartphone allows users to use the device in Rotary mode in which the front of the device rotates clockwise 90 degrees, allowing users to interact with the second screen while having uninterrupted content on the main screen.
The smartphone comes in Aurora Gray and Illusion Sky color options and is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G octa-core processor with 620 Adreno GPUs. The device runs the Android 10 operating system and has a 6.8-inch Full HD + screen with a resolution of 1080×2440 pixels and a second 3.9-inch screen with a resolution of 1080×1240 pixels.
