Lego Introduces a 2-in-1 Porsche 911 Turbo and Targa for Car Lovers – Robb Report

Can’t decide between a 911 Turbo or a 911 Targa? Fear not: Lego is offering the pair of collectible Porsche for just $ 150, albeit in miniature brick form.

The Danish company has just unveiled a new two-in-one set that allows car enthusiasts to build either the classic fixed-roof Turbo coupe or the iconic Targa convertible. Pint-size Porsches have all the hallmarks of their namesakes, from the distinctive sculpted hood and angled headlights to the streamlined silhouette. They even have a rear-mounted flat six-cylinder boxer engine that mirrors the original except for actual horsepower.

The 1,458-piece model also has features that are unique to each individual sports car and the appropriate badge. The mini Turbo is equipped with the variant’s characteristic wide rear axle, integrated rear spoiler, turbocharger and intercooler that together give an aggressively sporty look. In contrast, the small drop-roof Targa features a fully removable roof that can be stowed under the hood, along with a wraparound rear window.

The detailed interior remains the same for both versions and features a precisely recreated 2 + 2 cabin with tilting front seats and functional steering, plus a gear stick and handbrake. It is finished in dark orange and nougat that is based on the upholstery found in today’s 911s.

“Taking ownership of a new sports car is an experience to savor and this is a feeling we wanted to recreate for Lego fans,” said Mike Psiaki, design teacher at the Lego Group, in a statement. “911 fans around the world who have long admired these cars will certainly love the opportunity to build both versions.”

In addition to the faithful reproductions, first-time buyers to claim the set through Lego’s VIP loyalty program will receive a limited edition owner’s pack containing art prints of four classic Porsche advertisements, plus a certificate of ownership and a wallet.

The Lego Porsche 911 2-in-1 set will be available for VIP access from February 15 and will launch online and in physical stores from March 1. It is best to enter quickly.
